Elihu’s words to Job. Why do you complain against Him that He does not answer all of man’s statements? For God speaks once, and sees no need for twice.

Genesis Chapter 34

Dinah, Jacob’s daughter is taken by Shechem, son of Hamor. Hamor asks to marry Dinah. Jacob’s son requests cleverly to the exceedingly inflated bridal price. The men of Shechem are annihilated. Jacob’s son ask “Should he treat our sister like a harlot?”

Genesis Chapter 33

Jacob reunites with his brother Esau. Jacob pays a tribute to Esau. Esau travels to Seir. Jacob travels to Succoth. Jacob arrives at Shechem and buys a parcel of land. Jacob proclaims “God, the God of Israel”.

Genesis Chapter 32

Jacob sends a tribute to Esau. Jacob strives with the Divine, Penuel. Jacob’s name is changed to Israel.

Genesis Chapter 31

Jacob leaves Laban‘s house stealthily. Rachel steals a god from Laban‘s house and Jacob is not aware. Jacob and Laban make a covenant between themselves to not go past each other‘s boundary, Galeed, and Jacob promises to not harm or marry wives in addition to Laban‘s daughters.

Genesis Chapter 30

Jacob has more children by Bilhah, Dan and Naphtali. Jacob has more children by Zilpah, Gad and Asher. Leah bears Issachar, Zebulun and Dinah. Rachael bears Joseph. Jacob is ready to leave Laban’s house to build up his own house. Jacob makes a distinction between his flocks and the flocks of Laban. Jacob increases the early bearing flocks for himself, but does not do so for the late bearing flocks for Laban.
