Genesis Chapter 11: Tower of Babel & Generations to Abram

Genesis Chapter 11: the people build a city and a tower in Shinar to make a name for themselves, so God confuses their language and scatters them across the earth, ending the project and naming the place Babel.

The episode then traces the genealogy of Shem through Terah, and tells how Terah took Abram, Sarai, and Lot from Ur of the Chaldees to Haran, where Terah later died.

Genesis Chapter 10: Noah's Descendants

Genesis chapter 10 lists the descendants of Noah’s sons—Japheth, Ham, and Shem—and the nations, cities, and peoples that rose from them after the Flood.

The reading highlights notable figures like Nimrod, the origins of various territories and peoples, and how families, languages, and lands were distributed across the earth.

Genesis Chapter 9: God's Promise After the Flood

Genesis 9 recounts God blessing Noah and his sons, granting humanity dominion over animals while forbidding the consumption of blood. God establishes a covenant with Noah and every living creature, promising never to destroy the earth by flood again and setting the rainbow as the sign of that promise.

The chapter also tells of Noah planting a vineyard, becoming drunk, and being seen naked by his son Ham, leading to the curse on Canaan and blessings for Shem and Japheth. It closes with Noah living 350 years after the flood and then dying at age 950.

Genesis Chapter 8: Noah's Ark Rests on Mt. Ararat

Genesis Chapter 8 recounts how God remembered Noah and caused the floodwaters to subside. The ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat; Noah sent out a raven and then a dove.  The dove which returned with an olive leaf signaling that the land was drying. The dove was sent a third time and did not return to Noah.

When the earth was fully dry Noah, his family, and all the animals left the ark. Noah built an altar, offered sacrifices, and God promised never again to curse the ground or destroy all living creatures. 

Genesis Chapter 7: The Day the Flood Began

Genesis 7 tells of Yahweh’s command to Noah to enter the ark with his family and the animals, specifying pairs of each kind and seven pairs of clean animals. After seven days the flood begins, with rain for forty days and forty nights.

The waters burst forth and cover the earth, wiping out every living thing outside the ark; Noah and those with him are preserved as the ark drifts for 150 days.

Genesis Chapter 6 — The End of All Flesh

Genesis 6 is read from the Stone Edition Tanach humanity's wickedness grows, the Nephilim appear, and God regrets creating mankind, deciding to bring a flood to destroy all life.

Noah, found righteous, receives detailed instructions to build an ark, gather his family and pairs of animals, and store food—he obeys and prepares for the coming judgment.

Genesis Chapter 5 — From Adam to Noah:

Genesis Chapter 5 is read from the Stone Edition Tanach and records the descendants of Adam through Noah. It lists each generation, their ages, and the sons and daughters they begot.

Highlights include Enoch walking with God and being taken, Methuselah’s notable lifespan, and the birth of Noah, who will bring rest from the cursed ground.

Genesis Chapter 4: Cain and Abel

This episode reads Genesis chapter 4, recounting the birth of Cain and Abel, the offerings to Yahweh, and Cain's jealousy that leads to Abel's murder.

It describes God's exchange with Cain, the curse and mark placed upon him, his exile to Nod, and the subsequent genealogy including Lamech and the births that introduce city-building, music, and metalworking.

The chapter closes with the birth of Seth, presented as a replacement for Abel, and the beginnings of human society and conflict.

Genesis Chapter 3: The Fall of Adam and Eve

Genesis chapter 3 (Stone Edition to Noc) recounts how the serpent deceives the woman, leading Adam and Eve to eat the forbidden fruit and have their eyes opened to their nakedness.

God questions them, pronounces curses on the serpent, the woman, and the man, makes garments of skin for them, and banishes them from the Garden of Eden, placing cherubim and a flaming sword to guard the way to the tree of life.

Genesis Chapter 2 - Breath of Life: The Making of Man in Eden

This episode presents Genesis chapter 2 from the Stone Edition Tanakh, describing the completion of creation, the sanctification of the seventh day, and the planting of the Garden of Eden with its rivers and precious resources.

It recounts how Yahweh formed man from the ground, breathed life into him, placed him in Eden to tend it, and created a suitable companion from his side—establishing the first human relationship and the covenantal union of marriage.
